About

Lucy Cade is a painter.

Lucy was born in London, but now lives in Rutland, a small rural county in the Midlands. She is inspired by an excitement about evoking lived and remembered experience, about the illusory and mediated nature of perception and how these things can be expressed in paint. She is mostly self-taught, having spent her undergraduate years studying Classics at Oxford University. Whilst at Oxford, she spent many evenings at the Ruskin School of Fine Art as a part-time student and then went on to complete an art foundation at Oxford Brookes University.

Her oil paintings have been exhibited at Modern Art Oxford, at numerous Art Fairs and Midlands galleries, as well as at the Mall Galleries in London as part of the ING Discerning Eye (2005). She was also a semi-finalist in the ‘Big Art Challenge’ on ITV in 2004. Her work is collected and widely commissioned in the UK.
