About

‘Informed by my background in Classics, my paintings present females as avatars of particular mental states, set in landscapes of the mind. Current work includes an ACE funded project to explore my own postnatal psychosis. As well as themes such as identity and adolescence, I articulate the anguish and elation of psychotic states, touching on the political status of (female) psychiatric patients, attended by self-seeking or indifferent caregivers in a patriarchal healthcare system.’
